| It’s amazing how fast time flies!
It seemed only yesterday when Supply Oilfield Services Inc.
(SOS, Inc.) was incorporated on March 27, 1979 with an initial
capital of only PHP 50,000. Previously manned by only four
people, the company grew to over 400 highly skilled personnel,
working in our local and overseas projects. 25 years later,
SOS, Inc. has managed to survive despite, every so often,
very trying times.
When SOS, Inc. was starting, it had envisioned to be a “one-stop
service shop” that could cater to practically all the
needs and wants of its clients and leave them feeling satisfied
with the quality of performance and service. SOS strived each
year to provide every clientele with unparalleled support
and excellent performance. Efforts paid off when Bureau Veritas
(BVQI) awarded us the ISO 9002 certification in May 17, 1999.
Another feather to our cap was the recognition given by the
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to SOS
as “Top Performer” during the Agency
Performance Awards last December 12, 2002. In addition, SOS
was acknowledged for having “No Recruitment Violation
Case” and “Sustained Participation in Overseas
Employment Program” in the last 10 years. The company
boasts of a 15-year accident-free record, confirming SOS’
dedication to safety. These awards serve as inspiration to
go all out in keeping our quality of service. Indeed, SOS
means “Quality People, Quality Service, 24/7.”
As Chairman, I wish to take this opportunity to thank our
clients, especially those who have been with us since the
beginning, for believing in our capability as a quality service
provider and for continuously supporting us for a quarter
of a century.
Thank you to the Department of Energy for being SOS, Inc.’s
dependable ally since day one. It has been under various administrations
since 1979 yet they’ve given us the same unwavering
support for the past 25 years. This proves that government
agencies can work harmoniously with the private sector. The
same goes for all the drilling, energy and service companies
all over the world that have been part, or are part, of our
family. Special mention goes to all oil companies in the Philippines
who have turned to SOS for their logistics, administrative
and other important business-related needs. We, especially
I, are truly grateful. Merci beaucoup.
Despite a fair share of reputable clients and the consistent
demand for our pool of skilled individuals, our company never
ceases to explore fresh or rekindle old partnerships and possibilities
of new business ventures. We put up Axantis Productions in
2002 to promote the Philippines as a haven for filmmaking.
In a short span of time, we have shot a number of telefilms
produced by French film companies and have worked with respectable
and well-known French actors and cinematographers. Year 2004
looks promising as more French filmmakers are looking into
the possibility of shooting their projects here in the country.
We are also excited about the upcoming book that is nearing
completion and hopefully, will be launched in time for our
25th anniversary. Filipina: A Tribute to the Filipino
Woman is a coffee table book created to honor the women
in our lives—our nanay, ate, tita, lola, and other significant
ladies—who have changed, shaped and put color in our
society. This book follows the success of our first publication,
Philippines: Archipelago of Smiles, which was released
in 1998.
All these years, SOS tries to keep up with the fast paced
technology and has also invaded the World Wide Web. Thank
heavens for the internet, millions of people all over the
world can now see for themselves what SOS is and what we provide.
With just a click of the mouse, surfers can breeze through
our 25 years in no time at all!
Welcome to SOS Inc. on-line and find out for yourself if
we could be of any service to you.
