 Axantis Productions Inc. – Logistics in EntertainmentAfter the success of Supply Oilfield Services Inc’s venture into providing logistics services to the production of the tele-film, Au Bout du Rouleau (produced by Pierre Javaux Productions), in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, it was timely to establish a company that would specifically serve the requirements of the film industry and engage into some of its own projects as well. Axantis Productions Inc., a local based film production company, was incorporated in 2002 to complement foreign production companies’ demand for logistics support while filming in the Philippines. The Philippines, as we all know, has been a scenic backdrop for several movies in the past, the most popular being the Hollywood film, Apocalypse Now, directed by renowned film maker, Francis Ford Coppolla. More and more French production are looking into filming in the country as attested by several projects that were realized through the collaboration with Axantis Productions Inc. Travel requirements were secured through Axantis’ joint venture partner, SOS, as well as the transportation, plus the import and export of materials. Axantis Productions Inc. is the official representative of Euro Asia Media Group, a Hong Kong based production company which brought the series of French origin, Camera Café and You Women to the Philippines. Both series are not your run off the mill, hour-long comedy that is a mark of a typical Filipino sitcom. The shows, unlike its local counterparts, introduce a brand new type of comedy called snack entertainment. The success of the Camera Café Philippines is attested by its recent victory, when it bested several comedy shows in Asia in the award for Best Comedy Programme, at the 2009 Asian Television Awards, held in Singapore in January.
